Work from Bali is an innovative program initiated by The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investments Affairs, Luhut Panjaitan for Civil Servants (ASN).
Vinsensius Jemadu as a Head of the Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative revealed the provisions of the plan for Work From Bali program. One of the provisions is that Civil Servants (ASN) are prohibited to invite their families.
“We don’t recommend bringing families for Civil Servants (ASN) so that we can really limit the number. Moreover, we can monitor the health protocol properly,” Vinsensius said on Saturday (22/5/2021).
Then, how another ministry reacts to this Work from Bali initiative?
According to Vinsensius, The Ministry of Tourism and Creative strongly supports this work from Bali program. He added the ministry under the command of Sandiaga Uno will have an internal meeting soon. It is to determine the several standard operating procedures (SOPs) for this program.
“Because the current average of office worker is 50 percent, it can be divided into two. So 25 percent will be WFO in Jakarta and 25 percent will be work from Bali”, he explained.
“As for the types of work that can be done from Bali, we suggest that it is administrative stuff. The implementation of the program at the same time will encourage hybrid meetings within the ministry”, he added.
Work from Bali policy
The work from Bali policy could push the Balinese economy amidst the limited government budget. As we know, the state budgets (APBN) have been allocated a lot for health management, the Covid-19 vaccination program, and the national economic recovery program.
“It should be underlined that the government’s ultimate weapon is actually only two, the state budgets (APBN) then the regulations or policies. We know that the state budget is used to deal with health and vaccines. When we lack of budget, then we should be more focused on the regulations. I think the policy of work from Bali is good. We have to provide the right health protocol to implement it”, he said.
