Hi, I’m Jason, a Business Journalist at Bukit Vista, on assignment for the Bali Business Review. In this article, I’m taking you to Seseh—a coastal village just north of Canggu—to spotlight a construction boom that’s quietly reshaping the area. I’ve walked the streets to cut through the buzz, bringing you first-hand insights and visuals that go beyond the listings and renderings.
Whether you’re an investor, developer, or just curious about Bali’s next frontier, Seseh is now firmly on the radar. Read on to explore what’s happening on the ground—or better yet, [watch the full tour] for the full experience.
Why Investors Are Looking North of Canggu, Seseh
Located just 12-20 minutes from Canggu and 5-10 minutes from Pererenan (depending on traffic), Seseh offers a more tranquil alternative to Bali’s overcrowded hotspots—without sacrificing accessibility. The current wave of development suggests investors and developers are betting big on this balance of location and lifestyle.
What We’re Seeing on the Ground
During our latest site tour, we found multiple active construction zones signaling more than just a few scattered villas. Here are the highlights:
– Massive Development Footprints: Large parcels of land are now under construction with foundations already being poured. At least one major site is being developed into a 10-unit villa complex.
– Near-Shoreline Projects: One site in particular caught our eye—it’s just steps from the shoreline. With four units already underway and plans for more, beachside living in Seseh soon won’t be a rare find.
– Local Developers Taking the Lead: Interestingly, some developments are locally owned, including a two-bedroom Korean-built villa and a 10-unit Balinese-owned project—offering a hint that local stakeholders are just as bullish on the area’s potential as international players.
Signs of a New Commercial Hub
Right now, Seseh is still largely residential, with few cafés or restaurants. But subtle clues near the roadside suggest change is coming. Construction activity seen near the main thoroughfares may point to early stages of a future commercial district. If you’re an entrepreneur or business owner, this could be your opportunity to get in early before competition heats up.
A Glimpse into Seseh’s Future
Based on what we observed, developers are focusing on building 4–8 unit villa clusters, appealing to digital nomads, short-term renters, and lifestyle buyers. Combine that with beachfront access and proximity to Canggu’s amenities, and we may be looking at the seeds of a new luxury locale in Bali.
Why This Matters
Understanding Bali’s evolving property landscape isn’t just about what’s already built—it’s about identifying signs of transformation before they hit the mainstream. What’s happening today in Seseh is tomorrow’s prime listing—and savvy investors are taking note.
