Requesting Access to Coda Documents

Folders is used to keep docs organized in the workspace (think departments, teams, and projects). Folders contain docs within the workspace. The folder access is only owned by a few full-time employees and several part time employees.

Document is what’s in folder. The access of the document is open for full time employee, part time employee, and intern. Seniors are encouraged to give the document access to interns after Expectation setting session.

Page is what’s in documents. The access to open will be automatically obtained if you have access document. For access edit, you have to ask for access to edit from seniors or chapter leads.

Access to read and comment on documents

Most of the documents are accessible as long as you have the link, if you want those document to show up on your dashboard, ask your chapter lead to invite you to the document.

Notification Setting

There are 2 different ways you can be notified of comments in your doc: by participating in a thread or by subscribing to comment notifications.

    1. Subscribing to comment notification. If you don’t participate in or get mentioned in a thread, but want to stay abreast of new comments on a particular part of your doc, you can subscribe to comments.
    2. You can subscribe to the following objects in a doc:
      1. Rows (click the expand row icon → click the bell icon → choose all comment)
      2. Tables (cllick options → click the bell icon → choose all comment)
      3. Entire docs, Pages and Subpages (click the gear icon → notification → choose all comments)
